TWO HUNDRED BENEFICIARIES OF NDDC FOREIGN POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME RECEIVE THEIR AWARD LETTERS

Two hundred beneficiaries of Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC Foreign Postgraduates Scholarship scheme, twenty-twenty six, twenty-twenty seven batch have received their award letters.

Addressing the beneficiaries during pre-departure cum award ceremony in Port Harcourt Rivers State, Managing Director NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku described the programme as one of   the key educational initiatives the commission put in place to expose people of the region to the global stage, as part of Human capital development.

Dr. Ogbuku who expressed joy  that last year, about thirty of the scholars made distinctions, encouraged beneficiaries to be the best in their academic performances and character.

He cautioned them not to be carried away by the new lifestyle over there.

While giving assurance of prompt payment of their entitlements, the MD  warned that if any of them was found wanting, the scholarship would be withdrawn.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Interventionist Agency warned the scholars to avoid drug addiction and do away from friends who engage in such activities, insisting that it destroys lives.

The NDDC boss explained that the nation needs youths with sound minds as future leaders of the country.

Similarly, Director Education, Health and Social Services NDDC,  Dr.  Patience Ezugwu who asserted  that the scholarship was investment into the future of the people of the region, noted that   the commission has invested a lot of money into education to secure a bright future for the people.

Reacting to the development, two of the beneficiaries, DIFFA Oyindoura and Sunny Oniso who applauded NDDC for the opportunity, acknowledged that the process was free and credible.

The respondents promised to be good ambassadors.

 Over two thousand prospective beneficiaries were invited for the oral interview from about six thousand that sat for the Computer Based Test, from where the two hundred successful beneficiaries were selected.
