NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PLEDGES CONTINUOUS ALLOCATION TO ENSURE NDDC PROJECT DELIVERY

National Assembly has pledged continuous budgetary allocation for Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, to enhance project delivery by the commission.

Chairman, Senate Committee on NDDC, Senator Asuquo Ekpeyong made this known in Government House Asaba, when he led a joint Committee on NDDC of Senate and House of Representatives on a courtesy visit to Delta State Governor, as part of their oversight functions.
Senator Ekpeyong told the Governor that the joint Committee was in the state to assess NDDC projects.

“Your Excellency our visit is not only to inspect, but to ensure that NDDC projects are completed on schedule and Deliver Tangible projects and benefits to our communities.
In this regard, the committee pledges support in working with your administration, the NDDC and other stakeholders to address the challenges facing the region, strengthen oversight and accelerate project delivery”

While admitting that NDDC has embarked on remarkable projects in Delta state, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori maintained that durability should be a key consideration in project delivery.

“We appreciate your critical oversight in ensuring that NDDC remains focused and effective in the delivery of her mandate.
Delta State holds NDDC in a very high esteem, few weeks ago, NDDC MD and Shevron came here to discuss on the way to go on the OMADINOR- Escravos Road project.”

Governor Oborevwori noted that the oversight function was worthwhile to guarantee value for money.
Managing Director NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku alongside other Management staff were present during the courtesy visit.
