Female Directors in Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, have been enjoined to mentor young females to be in leadership positions in future.
Chairperson of FIDA Nigeria Rivers State Branch, Mrs. Tamunoibuemi Life -George who made the call during a Summit for Directing Female Staff of NDDC in Port Harcourt Rivers State, asked the women to be firm in doing things right always.
Mrs. Life -George enjoined the female directors to make policies that would shape their organizations for good.
She observed that there are traditions that are against women, which require advocacy and persistent efforts to change them for a better society.
The FIDA Chairperson challenged the female directors to stand for integrity and truth in the discharge of their duties.
She advised the directors to live in a manner that would trigger others to seek to follow their footsteps.
In the same vein, A Life Coach, Benedicta Ayerite asked the directors to make positive impacts in their subordinates that would outlive their stay in the commission without being authoritative.
In her submission, a management expert and business Analyst, Amarachi Stanley-Duru told the woman to focus on influence that would shape the future of younger women to toe their paths.
She encouraged the directors to develop a system that would foster the needed change.
In a remark, Director Abuja Liaison Office NDDC, Mrs. Mary Efekhoba-Nwaeke who acknowledged the importance of mentorship in the Public Service, noted that leadership by example would motivate the young females to learn.
While appreciating executive
management for the summit, Mrs. Efekhoba-Nwaeke said it was necessary to remind the directors of the need to be strategic in shaping the next generation of female leaders.
The summit also featured health talk as it relates to women and benefits of physical exercise.
The theme of the summit was Leadership Frontiers, the Role of Female Directors in Shaping the Public Service in the NDDC.
