OGUTA RESIDENTS RECEIVE NDDC PALLIATIVES WITH EXCITEMENT

The people of Oguta have received food palliatives distributed by Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC with excitement, jubilation and satisfaction.

While handing over the items in Oguta Community Imo State, Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku described the move as a demonstration of the resolve to Cater for the needs of Niger Delta households.

The atmosphere was lit, full of funfair, as the residents of OGUTA could not hide their joy while receiving the palliatives from NDDC.

OGUTA PALLIATIVES HANDOVER

To alleviate the present difficulty in the land due to high cost of goods including food items, Niger Delta Development Commission embarked on palliative distribution across communities in the oil rich region to lessen the burden of high cost of living on the residents.

Addressing the gathering, at Oguta Civic center, Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku told them that the aim was to assuage the prevalent harsh economic situation.

Represented by Director Social Services, Mr. Jeremiah Oritsejolone, the MD insisted that NDDC was committed to the welfare of the region.

He explained that in health sector, NDDC has carried out free medical outreaches and donated medical equipment, including ambulances to hospitals.

In education, Foreign and Local post- graduate scholarship scheme has been ongoing; NDDC has also done shoreline protection, Road construction, bridges, light up Niger Delta Solar Street light installation
and other projects that have had positive impacts on the people.

Similarly, Deputy Director Social Services, Mrs. Chioma Nwakue reminded the community that the commission has brought developmental projects to the area and still has plans to lift many out of difficulties.

Mrs. Nwakue assured them that the Interventionist Agency was concerned about the well-being of Niger Delta people.

In response, the paramount Ruler of OGUTA, his Royal Highness, Eze Nnani Nzeribe acknowledged that the Commission deserves commendation for reaching out and bringing succour to residents of the region.

In the same vein, Chairman, Oguta
Local Government Area Imo State, Mr.
Ifeanyi Nnani, remarked that NDDC has put smiles on the faces of the people and gave assurance that the items would be evenly distributed.
Some of the items distributed were
Bags of Rice, garri, beans, salt, noodles, water, gallons of oil, among others.
