NDDC CALLS FOR PARTNERSHIP TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF FOREIGN POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP BENEFICIARIES

Well meaning members of the public and organizations have been encouraged to partner Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, to increase the number of beneficiaries of the commission’s Foreign Post Graduate scholarship scheme.
Managing Director NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku made the call during Oral interview phase of the scheme in Port Harcourt Rivers State.
Represented by Director Education, Health and Social Services EHSS, Dr. Patience Ezugwu, the managing Director explained that expanding the scheme to accommodate Local Scholarship was part of the efforts to increase the number of beneficiaries.
Similarly, Director Education NDDC, Dr. Awele Chukwudifu expressed optimism of the gains of the Programme, insisting that the beneficiaries would be of great help to the development of the region at the endp of their studies.
While assessing the programme, two members of the interview panel, professor Anthony Okereke from Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO and Professor Fente Gbalipre of Niger Delta University Amasoma, asked that more funds be made available to NDDC to enable them to continue with the scheme.
Speaking about the process, two prospective beneficiaries, Michael Agbadi and Akindoyeni Oluwabukunmi applauded NDDC for the initiative.
On his part, the consultant, Chief Godson Ideozu maintained that the process of selection was fair and by merit with the cut off mark from the CBT benchmarked at twenty five marks over fiifty.
Over two thousand prospective beneficiaries were invited for the oral interview from about six thousand that sat for the Computer Based Test.
