NDDC EMBARKS ON ANTI-DRUG, CULTISM CAMPAIGN ACROSS NIGER DELTA, TAGS THE ACT A DREAM KILLER

Drug Abuse and Cultism have been described as dream killers.
Director Alternative Dispute Resolution, Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Goddy Ogedegbe who made the assertion during Anti-cultism campaign in select secondary schools Bayelsa State insisted that the commission was concerned about the rate of drug abuse among youths.
Represented by Manager ADR, Tarila woke, the director stated that the commission was intentional about securing a bright future for Niger Delta youths.

While condemning Cultismin, the Public Relations Officer of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Bayelsa State, Mr. Daniel Obah asked the students to work towards achieving a bright future instead of indulging in cultism.
The NDLEA PRO reminded them that the promises made by cult groups were lies and mere deceitful fabrications to lure others into the unlawful act.
He advised the students to speak up and call for help any time someone intends force them into cultism or drug abuse.


The NDLEA Official however lamented that some adults lead younger ones into drugs through their actions.
On her part, Principal,
Tarakiri Community Secondary School, Anyama-Ijaw, Mrs. Ebitei Noah who told the students that cultism is an association of failed people, appreciated NDDC for choosing the school for the programme.
The Principal advised students to be focused in their studies to be responsible members of society when they grow up.


In a remark, Coordinator Police Campaign against Cultism and other vices, Bayelsa State, Iboi Isimhen,
told them that the popularity that cultists enjoy was short lived, negative and leads to imprisonment if caught.
